PCT AND SHA QUANGOS, REPENT, THE END IS NIGH

THUNDERBIRDS ARE ER...... GOING!

Listening to the news over the weekend, I was very pleased to hear that the coilition Government is now apparently preparing to dramatically reduce the duties of the PCTs and SHAs. Personally i would not even trust them with a vending machine let alone key services at the point of need. It cannot happen soon enough for me.

What cheered me up in particular was to hear Andy (Virgil) Burnhams response. He is now a very unhappy man, no doubt under pressure from his friends in these Quangos especially the Pro-Fluoridation Lobby who he has supported so loyally,. I will be listening for the sounds of weeping and wailing, and of course, the gnashing of teeth.

What ever happened to public involvement in health decisions? The PCTs and SHA’s with their Quango board of directors were a dangerous outfit happily saying yes to poison in our drinking water, fitting their offices out with thick carpets and rearranging the furniture and looking forward to their gongs. Public meetings were a sham as all the major decision were taken with no one watching, they made sure of that with hidden agendas and hard to reach establishments on ring roads and industrial estates.

It could be true for the new Doctor's practices as clinicians approach, and the potential split up of costly chronic health care being left behind by profit run private snip and tuck outfits. If the dentists get to control their spending, our drinking water will definitely be tainted; more bucks for the cosmetic ‘correction’ of 1 in 8 of our children’s ruined fluorosis teeth through mass Fluoridation.

Bring back public involvement in Local or Regional Health Authorities. We are the customers, and we are not dumb, and won’t be patient or silent! Your move coalition Government, allow the people back into the world of choice and public health care supervision.
